Terms of service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service govern purchases, custom jewelry projects, design services, draft-order invoices, and use of the Liu & Co. website at https://liuandco.com. By placing an order, requesting a custom project, paying an invoice, or using the website, you agree to these terms as applicable to your transaction.

2. Custom projects and design deposits

A $300 CAD design deposit is required to begin CAD work. The deposit is non-refundable once paid and is credited toward the final custom-order total if the customer proceeds. After Liu & Co. receives the deposit and the information needed to begin, an initial CAD design is generally targeted within 3–5 business days. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date.
Each project includes up to three CAD revision rounds. Additional revisions or a substantial change in direction may require an additional design fee or timeline. Liu & Co. will confirm any added paid work before proceeding.

3. Approval and production payments

The customer is responsible for carefully reviewing CAD designs and specifications before written approval, including metal, stone type, stone size, dimensions, ring size, engraving, finish, and layout. After written CAD and quote approval, a 75% production payment is required to begin production. The remaining 25% balance is due before shipment or pickup. An invoice or custom message will identify what each payment covers.
Once written approval is given and production begins, changes may require additional fees, new timing, or may not be possible. Custom, personalized, engraved, made-to-order, and customer-approved pieces are final sale once production begins, subject to rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

4. Chains and other ready-to-buy products

Ready-to-buy Chains are supplied as brand-new factory goods and are final sale. Liu & Co. does not accept returns or exchanges for chain orders, subject to rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

5. Client-supplied stones

Client-supplied stones may be accepted case by case. The customer is responsible for delivery risk, packaging, and insurance. Pre-owned stones may have inherent or pre-existing conditions that create risk during resetting. Liu & Co. may require a separate written acknowledgement before accepting a client-supplied stone.

6. Prices, taxes, and payment

Prices, deposits, payment stages, taxes, shipping terms, and any project-specific conditions will be shown in the applicable quote, order, or invoice. The customer is responsible for reviewing those details before payment. A payment does not authorize work beyond the scope stated in the applicable quote or invoice.

7. Shipping and delivery

Eligible U.S. orders generally receive complimentary standard shipping. Ready-to-buy Chains are currently estimated at approximately 5–7 business days after order confirmation for supplier fulfillment and carrier delivery, subject to supplier availability and carrier transit. Custom production and processing time are separate. A signature may be required at delivery. International shipment is available only by written quote and is not currently offered through standard checkout.

8. Limited workmanship warranty

Eligible custom work is covered by a limited lifetime workmanship warranty for confirmed manufacturing defects where repair is reasonably possible. The warranty does not cover normal wear, routine maintenance, scratches, gradual thinning, worn finishes, accidental damage, impact, misuse, chemicals, loss, theft, third-party resizing or repair, or pre-existing conditions or inherent weaknesses in client-supplied stones.

9. Errors and customer responsibility

The customer must review all specifications and invoice details before approving a project or submitting payment. If an item appears incorrect, damaged, defective, or materially different from the approved specifications, the customer should contact custom@liuandco.com promptly and preserve the item and packaging for review.

10. Intellectual property and website content

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Liu & Co. retains rights in its original website content, photography, designs, branding, and business materials. Customers may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or commercially use those materials without written permission.

11. Changes to these terms

Liu & Co. may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of an order or written project approval will govern that transaction to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms or a specific transaction should be sent to custom@liuandco.com with the order number or project details.
Counsel should confirm the legal business name, governing-law language, limitation-of-liability language, dispute process, and any required consumer disclosures before publication.
